Welcome

Welcome

At Landgate School we aim to create an inclusive, happy, learning environment which allows equal

opportunities for all.

We are committed to high quality teaching to all learner / students.  This commitment is underpinned by:

• Supporting all members of staff in the development of skills which enable them to deliver the curriculum in and efficient effective manner
• Operating a rigorous monitoring and evaluation process of planning, curriculum content, and teaching methods
• Securing an effective, process of Assessment, Recording and Reporting
• Creating an appropriate learning environment throughout the school, characterised by a calm purposeful learning environment; safe, clean and tidy classrooms; sufficient appropriate resources

• Providing appropriate and adequate resources to enable staff to provide a broad, balanced curriculum for all learner / students

Landgate School has two buildings on site.  The older building houses the reception offices, Early Years Foundation Stage, three classrooms, Food Technology room, school hall, kitchen, and the Communication Team room.  In the new building there are five classrooms, one being the classroom for the college students, recreation room for the college students, library and ICT room.

There are four play areas – trim trail, small yard, middle yard and top yard.  All of which are to undergo refurbishment in 2010-2011.  Also during 2010-2011 the school filed will be perimeter fenced allowing access for the learner / students.

We offer education for learners diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum and those who have social and communication difficulties.  We also offer an outreach service to other schools in the borough supporting staff in mainstream in particular who have learners on the autistic spectrum.
